Course Description:

This class is for those individuals who have taken the initial class. The class covers all the current topics of mold, and review of topics that were covered in the initial class.

Course Hours: This one day course held at CAL INC starts at 8:00 am and runs until 4:30 pm. Participants are provided with a continental breakfast and lunch is served from one of several local restaurants.

Course Description:

This course includes the following:

*The basics of mold
*Federal and state regulations associated with mold
*The most common causes of mold infestation
*Health effects associated with mold exposure
*Knowledge of various mold genera and species commonly associated with molds found in residential and commercial properties
*Identification and assessment of mold damage
*Protocols for the recommendation for mold remediation
*Knowledge of the various mold sampling protocols
*Knowledge of mold sampling equipment and when that equipment is most effective
*How to submit mold samples for laboratory analysis
*How to interpret laboratory analysis results
*Design and construction of containment
*Design and construction of decontamination units
*Various mold remediation strategies commonly utilized today
*Hands-on activities which allow students the opportunity to use various sampling equipment, the opportunity to build containment / decontamination units and the opportunity to remediate in a mold environment
*Final examination
