40 Hour HAZWOPER Initial

Price: US$675.00
Class Times: 8:00am-4:30pm

Course Description:

In accordance with Title 8 Section 5192(e) of the General Industry Safety Orders, Training: General site workers (such as equipment operators, general laborers, and supervisory personnel) engaged in hazardous substance removal or other activities which expose or potentially expose workers to hazardous substances and health hazards shall receive 40 hours of instruction.

Certified curriculum includes the following: A review of 8 CCR 5192 (29 CFR 1910.120) and the core elements of an occupational safety and health program; The content of a medical surveillance program; The content of an effective site safety and health plan; Emergency response plan and procedures; Adequate illumination; Sanitation recommendations and equipment; Review and explanation of OSHA’s hazard-communication standard; Review of other applicable standards; Rights and responsibilities of employers and employees under applicable OSHA and EPA laws.

Training also applies to (a) General Waste Site Cleanup Operations, (b) Operations at hazardous waste Treatment, Storage, and Disposal Facilities and (c) Emergency Response Operations in accordance with Title 8 CCR Section 5192.

Are you wondering if “HAZWOPER fills your training needs?” Many contractors are required to use a 40 Hr. HAZWOPER trained personnel as contract specifications indicate and for submittals for bidding. The HAZWOPER law was meant to be broad and to encompass personnel involved with hazardous materials/waste management.

Course Hours: This five-day course at CALINC starts at 8:00 am and runs until 4:30 PM. Participants are provided with a continental breakfast and lunch is served from one of several local restaurants each day.

24 HOUR HAZWOPER Initial

Price: US$495.00
Class Times: 8:00am-4:30pm

Course Description:

In accordance with Title 8 Section 5192 (e) of the General Industry Safety Orders, Training: Workers on site only occasionally for a specific limited task (such as, but not limited to, ground water monitoring, land surveying, or geophysical surveying) and who are unlikely to be exposed over PELs and published exposure levels shall receive a minimum of 24 hours instruction. In addition, workers regularly on site who work in areas which have been monitored and fully characterized indicating that exposures are under PELs and published exposure levels where respirators are not necessary, and the characterization indicates that there are no health hazards or the possibility of an emergency developing shall also receive a minimum of 24 hours instruction.

Certified curriculum includes the following: Names of personnel and alternates responsible for site safety and health; Safety, health and other hazards present on the site; Use of PPE; Work practices by which the employee can minimize risks from hazards; Safe use of engineering controls and equipment on the site; Medical surveillance requirements including recognition of symptoms and signs which might indicate overexposure to hazards; and Site safety and health plans.

8 Hour HAZWOPER Refresher

Price: US$200.00
Class Times: 8:00am-4:30pm

Course Description:

This eight-hour course meets the training requirements for refresher training under 29 CFR 1910.120 and 8 CCR 5192 for HAZWOPER trained individuals. Key points from the original training are reviewed in a lively setting. Students identify hazards, characterize incidents and solve problems in group settings.

Prerequisites: Current 24 or 40 hour HAZWOPER certification and applicable annual refresher training.

Certificate of Completion: A CALINC Certificate documenting 8 hour HAZWOPER Refresher certification is awarded to all attendees. Full attendance is mandatory.

Class begins at 8am. Lunch will be provided from one of several local restaurants
