High-speed
WiFi Connectivity
Motorola’s MOTOwi4™
portfolio of next-generation wireless broadband solutions
is
earning high marks in helping businesses
quickly meet the growing demand for high-speed services
on-and-off campus. The backbone of the MOTOwi4 portfolio,
the Canopy® wireless technology platform is one of the
fastest, most reliable, most affordable ways of bringing
high-speed access and other learning and communications
solutions to business environments of all types and sizes.
Networking
Remote Buildings
Motorola
offers a comprehensive portfolio of point-to-point solutions
to meet a variety of connectivity challenges. The
Line-of-Sight PTP 100 Series is designed to operate in the
2.4, 5.1, 5.2, 5.4 and 5.8 GHz frequencies. The PTP 400
Series operates in the 4.9, 5.4 and 5.8 GHz frequencies and
the PTP 600 Series makes use of the 5.4 and 5.8 frequency
bands. Operators use the systems’ higher bandwidth to
transmit IP data, video, VoIP and channelized voice for a
variety of markets and applications.
The Point-to-Point Portfolio
provides exceptional link reliability and performance,
significantly reducing interference in noisy RF conditions
and nLoS and NLoS environments. Small footprints and power
over Ethernet reduce the amount of valuable tower space
needed, and remote link management capabilities help lessen
operating costs. Installation is fast and simple, with units
designed to be easily mounted and adjusted even in the
smallest of spaces.

Video
Surveillance Monitoring and Security
In today’s ever-changing world, personal safety, premise and
property protection, data center security and public safety
are among the highest priorities on campuses of all sizes. A
high-speed Canopy network enables state-of-the-art IP-based
video surveillance solutions that are rapidly becoming the
security system of choice worldwide. Applications include
remote monitoring of perimeters, parking lots
and other hard to reach and heavily used locations.

Solutions for Sensor Networks
Low power, energy efficient radios and processors have made
all types of sensor networks a reality. Sensor networks are
typically defined as a device that produces a measurable
response to a change in physical condition (such as
temperature) or in chemical condition (such as
concentration). Industrial Controls have also been added to
the list of general concepts for sensor networks, since they
share many of their characteristics.
Applications include:
-
Chemical, Bio, Nuclear
Detection and Monitoring
-
Traffic Observation,
Detection and Management
-
Industrial Control Systems
-
Portable and Mobile Site

Parking
Revenue Systems
ALPR is an integrated component of parking revenue systems
around the world. Integration has been successful with
almost all major parking revenue system providers.
Integrating ALPR into a parking revenue system allows for
revenue to be associated with a vehicle, and not with a
ticket…which may be lost or swapped. It has been estimated
that up to 15% of parking revenue is lost on an annual basis
due to ticket fraud. Maintaining vehicle and plate images,
along with their time and date stamps, allows for accurate
resolution of ticket discrepancies such as these…resulting
in improved customer service levels and prevention of lost
revenue. |
